Brian F. Weir, 62, of Rockland formerly of Whitman, passed away on Tuesday January 29th surrounded by his family in the South Shore Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Karen (Conley) Weir.
Brian was the son of the late James M. and Helen (Kelly) Weir and was a lifelong resident of Whitman before moving to Rockland a year ago.
After high school, he served in the Merchant Marines and also with the United States Army.
Brian returned to Whitman in 1982 after military service and worked as an IT Technician for Wang Labs and also worked for Arbella Insurance Company before retiring.
He enjoyed playing pool, golf, taking trips on his motorcycle and especially walking his dog “Weiser”.
In addition to his wife Karen, he is survived by his two sons Daniel J. Weir and his wife Michelle of West Bridgewater, Brian Weir and his girlfriend Kelly Shannon of Whitman, his step children, Cayla and Stephen Newman, his brother James Weir and his wife Janet of Onset, his two grandchildren Braelyn and Ethan Weir, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Bruce Weir, Mary Johansen and Sandra Lambert.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Friday February 1st from 4:00-8:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman. His funeral service will be held Saturday February 2nd at 10:00 AM in the Chapel. burial will follow in the Colebrook Cemetery Donations may be made in his name to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
