Obituary

East Bridgewater - William E. Kennedy, 82, of East Bridgewater died Saturday, July 10, at Brockton Hospital after a period of failing health. He was the husband of 57 years to the late Dorothy C. (Tivnan) Kennedy.

Born Sept. 17, 1921, in Boston, the son of the late William F. and Alice L. (Lamb) Kennedy, he had lived in East Bridgewater for five years, coming form Dorchester.

Mr. Kennedy was raised in Dorchester and was a graduate of English High School, Class of 1940.

In 1955, he graduated from Staley College in Brookline with a master’s degree in Art of Oratory and a master’s degree in Art and was awarded the Staley Academic Key for high scholastic attainment. Mr. Kennedy received his teaching certification in 1961.

He was a sales manager for National Laundry in Dorchester and then became manager of securities and funds for Fleet Bank of Boston, where he retired from.

Mr. Kennedy was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II.

He is survived by his daughter, Kathleyne L. Pepe and her husband Vincent of Melrose; his son, Keith L. Kennedy and his wife of Foxboro; three grandchildren, Lauren M. Pepe and Elena M. Pepe, both of Melrose and Kevin E. Kennedy of Foxboro. He was grandfather of the late Kristin Kennedy.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree, at a time to be announced.
