Obituary

Lillian Lynn, 96, of Provincetown, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully on January 22. Lillian was born in Philadelphia where she graduated from Simon Gratz High School. She worked for the federal government as a bookkeeper. After a romantic courtship around Fairmont Park with her best beau, Solomon Lynn, Lillian moved to Goldsboro, NC during the early years of World War II, after being summoned there for a surprise wedding planned by her husband prior to his travel to England and France during the war years.

Lillian returned to her family home in Philadelphia awaiting Solomon's return at the end of the War. It was in West Philadelphia where they settled to raise their two adored daughters, Marcia Goldstein and Sharon Lynn, always living close to family and relatives. Lillian was a homemaker in the "old fashioned" sense of the modern era "stay-at-home" Mom caring for the every whim of her daughters whom she showered with special love and attention every day. It wasn't until both girls left home when Lillian went back to the workforce in retail sales at the iconic John Wanamaker department store in center city Philadelphia where she worked well into her 70's at which time she and her husband moved to the suburbs of Philadelphia to be closer to Sharon, her spouse, Patsy Greene and her beloved grand puppies!

After her husband's death in 2001, and after 59 wonderful years of marriage, Lillian relocated to Atlanta, GA to live with her daughter Marcia and her other cherished grand puppy "Hudson". When it was necessary to find long term care in 2008, Lillian moved to Seashore Point in Provincetown where she graced Commercial Street during the summer months enjoying the lively scenery at the benches in front of Town Hall. The family extends tremendous gratitude to Lillian’s exceptional personal care providers at Seashore Point and also to Vicki Archer from Atlanta.

In addition to dedicating her time to her family, Lillian enjoyed cooking and entertaining. She was also an avid reader and stalwart Democrat, always passionate about her candidate.

In addition to her husband, Solomon, Lillian was pre-deceased by her brother Elliot Oskie of Hershey, PA her sister Betty Sokolow of Baltimore, MD and her son-in-law Dr. Robert Goldstein of Atlanta, GA. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Marcia and Sharon, her daughter-in-law Patsy, her granddaughter Suzanne Moore and her husband, Rob and their two little girls Whitney and Larkin of Cincinnati, OH and her grandson Richard Goldstein of Brooklyn, NY and three nephews who are already missing her very, very much.

A graveside service and internment were held at Mt. Sharon Cemetery, Springfield, PA. If desired, memorial contributions can be made to Seashore Point Resident's Association, 100 Alden Street, Provincetown, MA 02657 or to Helping Our Women, 34 Conwell Street, Provincetown, MA 02657.
