Mary Lois Johnsey, age 76, died Sunday, January 27, 2013 at North MS Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. She was born to the late David Oliver and Clara Nelson Walters in the Pine Valley Community of Yalobusha County, MS. In her younger days she worked at Dr. George Brown's Hospital and Wiley's Drug Store. When she married she moved to Water Valley where she lived all her life, caring for her home and family. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, taking care of her flowers and being outdoors. She especially enjoyed feeding and watching her animals, the birds and deer. She dearly loved spending time with her family and friends. Mary Lois was a faithful and active member of First Baptist Church of Water Valley and a member of the Ruth Sunday School Class.
Visitation is planned for Wednesday, January 30, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will be held in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks at 3:00 PM on Thursday, January 31, 2013 with Dr. Randy Bain and Rev. Billy Childs officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley, MS.
Mary Lois is survived by her husband, Bobby Carr Johnsey, Sr. of Water Valley, MS; one daughter, Emily Johnsey Childs (Billy) of Water Valley, MS; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Walters of Grenada, MS; two brothers, Oliver Walters of New Albany, MS and Bobby Gene Walters (Jimmie) of Grenada, MS; two grandchildren, Allison Childs Hernandez and Catie Childs Tucker (Jay) both of Water Valley, MS; and two great grandchildren, Jayden Kane Hernandez and Bentlee Marie Tucker.
In addition to her parents, Mary Lois was preceded in death by two sons, Benjamin Johnsey and Bobby Carr Johnsey, Jr.; her sister, Mildred Wilson; her brothers, Jack Walters and Earl Wayne Walters.
