Obituary

Whitman - Wayne A. Rudkin 70, a lifelong resident of Whitman, died unexpectedly Thursday January 24 in Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston. He was the beloved husband of 47 years to Penelope “Penny” (Wheeler) Rudkin.

Born in Brockton and raised in Whitman he was the son of the late Arthur and Marion (Coulter) Rudkin and a graduate of Whitman-Hanson High, Class of 1960.

Wayne was a proud veteran of the US Marines having served from 1960-1963 and receiving a Rifle Marksman Badge during his service.

He had been a diesel mechanic for the Cummins and Caterpillar companies and later for AJ Welch of Boston before his current job with CJ Mabardy of Cambridge.

He was an avid reader and enjoyed woodworking. He was known for his talent to “fix just about anything” by his family and friends.

Wayne was truly a family man, and treasured the time spent with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Penny he is survived by his loving daughters Pamela Driscoll and her husband John of Rockland and Vandy Densmore and her husband Jeffrey of West Bridgewater, his sister Sheila Plouf of Whitman and his grandchildren Julia, Shane, Brian and Colin Driscoll.

Family and friends are invited to attend a “Celebration of Life” to be held Saturday February 2 from 12 – 4 PM at the Whitman Knights of Columbus, 1195 Bedford Street, Whitman.
