CHICOPEE – Patricia A. (Stinson) LaPlante, 78, of the Fairview section of Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, January 23, 2013. She passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her faithful companion, her Schnauzer, Heidi. She was born in Laconia, New Hampshire on April 19, 1934, a beloved daughter of the late Carl and Irene (Adams) Stinson. She was raised and schooled in Laconia and graduated from Laconia High School and Laconia Business College, where she received her Associate’s Degree. She resided in Franklin, NH, Glastonbury, CT and Westfield before moving to Fairview in 1972. She was employed for many years as an Executive Secretary at Pyrofax Gas in Westfield and later as an office manager for many years at the Medical Office of Dr. Lisa Duval Kennedy in Holyoke. She was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. She was a quiet woman who showered her family with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She enjoyed gathering her entire family for special occasions and passed at home surrounded by her children, grandchildren and Heidi. She leaves her devoted husband and best friend, Roger A. LaPlante. They were married on January 21, 1956 at Saint Joseph Church in Laconia, NH and had just celebrated 57 years of happiness together. She also leaves her four loving children, Karen Gherardi of Claremont, NH, Timothy LaPlante and his wife, Joann of Southwick, Brenda LaPlante and Deborah Kuzdzal and her husband Joe, all of Westfield; her 14 cherished grandchildren, Christopher, Patrick and A.J. Gherardi, Aric and Andrea LaPlante, Nicholas Beaulieu and his wife, Rachel, Courtney, Stephanie and Tyler LaPlante, Shelby LaPlante-Baxter, Heather and Sierra LeBlanc, and Matthew and Bryan Danish; her three cherished great grandchildren, Hailie Danish, Mollie Gherardi and Andre LaPlante; and her dear sister, Carole Salmon and her husband Bob of Wichita, KS. She also leaves her brother in law, Reginald LaPlante and his wife Pauline of Franklin, NH; her sister in law, Jeanne Perry of Laconia, NH; and her many dear nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday morning, January 29, 2013 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 (funeral home will open at 8 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Committal Service will follow the Mass at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, January 28, 2013 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral home parking lot is located in the rear.
