KLEPONIS, ALBERT of So. Boston died January 21, 2013. He was 94 years old. He is survived by his daughter Eleanor Symolon & her husband Walter of So. Weymouth, his son Paul & wife Bonnie of Miami, his grandchildren Eleanor & her husband David Prosper, Karen & her husband Marc Lombardo, Donna Symolon, Joseph Symolon & his wife Elizabeth, Kevin & Peter Kleponis & Jennifer & her husband Jessie Hogue, 7 great, grand children & 1 great, great, grandson & many nieces & nephews. Al is brother of Mary, Ann, Sr. Christine, CJC, Vincent & his wife Anna Kleponis, Frances Zinka, & Virginia Laufer. Albert is predeceased by his wife Eleanora (Jurewich), his parents Peter & Elizabeth (Kudrick), his sister Joan, his son David & grandson Peter. He was a graduate of South Boston High School. Albert worked many years for Stanhope Bindery of Boston, Boris Beverage Co. & Pilgrim Badge & Label Co. as well as Crosby Gauge & Steel Co. working on defense projects during WWII. Albert was an active parishioner & communicant of St. Peter Lithuanian Parish. He had been an usher for over 50 years & belonged to many organizations: the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Holy Name Society, Parish Bowling League, the Parish Bingo which he started, & was manager & treasurer of the Parish Band. In his younger days, Al belonged to the Parish Choir & participated in many plays & loved singing the Ave Maria & songs from H.M.S. Pinafore. He also started & ran the Bingos at Don Bosco as Fathers’ Club President & the Bingo at Immaculate Conception Lithuanian Parish, Cambridge. Albert was an Honorary Life member of St. Francis Xavier Knights of Columbus Council 5027 & former trustee of Pere Marquette Council 271. Albert will be waked at Casper’s Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester Street, SOUTH BOSTON on Friday 4 to 8 PM. His funeral mass will be in St. Peter Lithuanian Church, Flaherty Way, So. Boston on Saturday at 10 AM. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery.
