WEBSTER – Stephanie P. “Cioc” (Siok) Kos, 98, of Webster died peacefully Tuesday, January 22, 2013 in Life Care Center of Auburn. Her husband of 54 years, Peter W. Kos, died in 1995.
She leaves nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews, and especially her devoted caregivers Eunice Bastek, Betty Pike and Barbara Kryger.
She was born in the Thorndike section of Palmer and raised in North Oxford, a daughter of Joseph and Marcianna (Domkowski) Siok. She lived in Webster since 1941 when she married.
An excellent seamstress and tailor, Mrs. Kos taught sewing at the Singer Sewing store from 1961 to 1976 and also at Bartlett High School’s evening classes in practical arts. She retired in 1976.

She was a member and served as president from 1961 to 1963 of the Saint Joseph Polish Women’s Club. She organized the Msgr. Andrew Lekarczyk Library at Saint Joseph Elementary School, purchasing books and supplies, and providing staffing to assist the children. She worked diligently at the club’s annual Christmas bazaar to promote its success. She was also a former member of the Hubbard Regional Hospital Guild.
Mrs. Kos loved Polish traditions and was very proud of her Polish heritage. She was often consulted about the history of the parish and its organizations. She loved her family and the caregivers at the Life Care Center of Auburn, where she lived for the last few years, as well as those from the VNA of S. Worcester County and from Tri-Valley, Inc. who helped her when she was homebound.
