Obituary

Ida (Cuddemi) LaRiccia, age 90, died peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, in Boston, at Massachusetts General Hospital, following a very brief illness.

Ida was a loving sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. Born and raised in the North End of Boston, and a resident of Somerville for the past 57 years, Ida was loved by all.

Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Victor and sister, Mary. She eternally loved Victor, and is now reunited with him in heaven.

Ida was proud of her Italian heritage and was faithfully connected to God, never missing weekly Mass. She was educated in Boston's North End and always spoke proudly of the double-promotion she received in elementary school. Ida will be remembered by her lovely smile, delicious meals, kind heart, and thoughtful storytelling. She worked as a seamstress, served as the ambassador to Boston's waterfront at the family-owned souvenir stand, and most recently worked at the Somerville polls at each election. She had a gentle soul and will be greatly missed.
