Ernie Witcher, 63, of Anderson, died on January 18, 2013 at his home.
He was born on June 17, 1949 in Anderson, the son of Lorene (Stinson) and Dewey Witcher. He was employed by General Motors for 33.6 years retiring in 2006. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Anderson, and he enjoyed lifting weights, building, being outdoors, and spending time with family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Kay (Overby) Witcher whom he married August 7, 1976. His mother, Lorene Witcher 3 Children: Marcus John Witcher, Ashley Kay Masterson, Justin Keith Witcher, all of Anderson. 4 grandchildren: Brennen Witcher, Vance Masterson, Landon Witcher, all of Anderson and Leigha Witcher, of Fort Mill, SC . Siblings: Dianne Wylie, Raymond Witcher, and Tandy Witcher, Several nieces and nephews, Brothers in law: Mike Overby, and Brian Overby of Anderson, and Merlin Wylie of Alexandria. Sisters in law, Janice Witcher of Anderson, Carol Witcher of Pendleton, and Wanda Etchison of Frankton. Daughters in law: Dannae Witcher, and Kelsey Queen, Mother in law, Lilly Overby, and Son in law, Ryan Masterson.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Roger, Bob, and Terry Russell Witcher, his father, Dewey Witcher, and father in law, Eldred Overby
Services will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Rozelle Johnson Funeral Service officiated by Dr. Art Jaggard. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00 up until the time of the service on Wednesday.
