Obituary

Mr. Joseph Pianpiano, age 82 of Woburn, formerly of Medford died Thursday in the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford. He is the husband of Josephine (Territo) Pianpiano with whom he shared more than 53 years of marriage. Born in Tewksbury, the son of the late Diego and Mary Pianpiano, he attended local schools. He served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. He worked in the security industry specializing in the protection of retail goods. Mr. Pianpiano was a deeply religious man and a former communicant of St. Joseph Church. In his spare time he enjoyed watching television, particularly old westerns. He idolized the western movie stars like John Wayne. Nothing gave him more satisfaction than spending quality time with his wife, sons and grandchildren and Keileigh, his great granddaughter.
In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons: John Pianpiano and his wife Hasmig of Woburn, Michael Pianpiano and his wife Lynn of MD. Grandchildren Jason, Anthony, Alisa and Rocco.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home 306 Main Street Medford on Tuesday at 8:00 AM. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church 118 High Street, Medford, at 9:00 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joe's name may be sent to St. Joseph Parish 114 High Street Medford MA. 02155. Services will conclude with military honors and committal at MA. National Cemetery in Bourne. .
