Obituary

Sr. Anne O’Shea. 80, of Winchendon, died peacefully Thursday, January 17, 2013 at UMASS Memorial Healthcare, University Campus in Worcester.

Sr. Anne, daughter of the late Daniel and Nora (Daley) O’Shea, was born in Springfield on October 22, 1932. She entered religious life in Hudson New Hampshire on February 11, 1952. She made profession on August 15, 1954.

Sister was an excellent teacher who taught for about 25 years in Aldenville, Gardner and Willimansett, MA. After her teaching career came to an end, Sr. Anne received preparation to become a Pastoral Minister working with the sick, elderly and homebound. She worked in this capacity for 30 years in Winchendon at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish. She leaves cousins from Springfield and Holyoke and her beloved sisters from the U.S. Province of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM at the Residence Saint Claire of the Presentation of Mary, 209 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 2:30 PM in the Presentation of Mary Chapel. Burial will take place in Presentation of Mary Cemetery in the spring.
