Mary “Christy” Gateman, age 61, of East Lyme passed away peacefully on Thursday evening with her family by her side.
She is survived by her husband Jeff; children Jason Courter, Michelle and Jeff Hayward, Joey Gateman, and five wonderful grandsons.
Christy’s life was spent taking care of her family and others. Her 40 year career as an RN allowed her to help so many, most recently the children she loved at the Joshua Center. Among her many joys in life were watching her sons and grandsons wrestle, sharing time and her wonderful cooking with family and friends, NY Giants football and Federer tennis.
Visitation will be at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic on Tuesday, Jan 22 from 5 to 8 PM. A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 10am at the Avery-Stoddard Cemetery, Rte. 214, Ledyard, CT. Guests are invited to arrive at the cemetery at 9:45am.
