Obituary

Alton Paul, 80, of Macon, Georgia, died Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon.

Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the Ocilla Cemetery with the Rev. Royce Freeman officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ocilla one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Paul was born September 22, 1932, in Irwin County to Lossie Mae Yarbrough Paul and the late Dave Paul. He lived in Macon for the past 54 years coming from Irwin County. He enjoyed camping, deer hunting, growing vegetables and NASCAR. An avid carpenter, he and his brother built eight houses. He was also a 38-year employee of Armstrong World Industries in Macon. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War era and was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years: Betty Paul of Macon; daughter and son-in-law: Janet and Ronald Spillers of Roberta; his mother Lossie Yarbrough Paul of Tifton; brother: Franklin A. Paul of Macon and a sister: Edna Ruth Ring of Tifton. Several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews survive.
