PYLES - Lilian M. Pyles, 71, of Fernandina Beach passed away Thursday evening, January 17, 2013 at Charlton Medical Center in Folkston, GA.
Ms. Pyles was born September 25, 1941 in Oklahoma City, OK and moved to Fernandina Beach 19 years ago from Jacksonville, FL.
She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Cairo, GA. Ms. Pyles was a very unique person. For those who knew her best, they knew her to have a kind heart and a wonderful sense of humor as well as being a person of keen intelligence. She was creative and as an artist created paintings and poetry.
She was predeceased by her son, Raymond Dewey Martin, Jr. in 1979.
Survivors include two daughters and sons in law, Virginia Marie Martin Chase (Alex) of Deland, FL and Emily Dianne Martin Ponsell (Emmett) of Fernandina Beach, FL; three grandchildren, Kenneth James Stephens, Jr., Samantha Marie Chase Jedrzej and Charlotte Bowie Chase; two great grandchildren, King Axel Henry and Freedom Peyton Jedrzej; and a future great grandson to be born to Kenneth Stephens and Ricci Terell.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, in the Stephens Chapel at Green Pine Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Sides officiating.
