J. Alison Hutchinson, 83 of Derry, NH died Friday January 18, 2013 in the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center, Derry following a lengthy illness. Alison was born on January 26, 1929 in Warrington, England, the daughter of the late William and Annie (Daniels) Stewart. Alison moved to the United States in June of 1961 and became a permanent resident. She worked in the personnel department and as a secretary at the former Western Electric Co. in N. Andover, MA.
Prior to her illness, Alison led a very active life, enjoying bowling and her first parachute jump. She went bird hunting in Maine and loved snowmobiling in Maine and New Hampshire. For over 25 years she enjoyed two weeks fishing for lake trout and salmon at Ames Farm Inn on Lake Winnipesaukee.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Hutchinson of Derry, and his daughter, Lynn Hutchinson of Amesbury, MA. In addition, she is survived by cousins, nieces and nephews in the United States and the United Kingdom.
In keeping with Alison’s wishes there will be no calling hours. Private burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Litchfield Plains Cemetery, Litchfield, ME. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Derry, is assisting the family with arrangements.
