Emge, William L. “Bill”, 87, of Louisville passed away January 16, 2013 at Norton Hospital. He was a Methodist by faith and a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and VFW Post 5421. Bill retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad formerly known as K&I Railroad as a car inspector and was a Navy veteran of WWII.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Bud and Jim Emge; sister, Virginia Smith; grandson, Timothy Attkisson; and great grandson, Nolan Fife.
Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Nellie Meagher Emge; daughters, Sherry Attkisson (Randy), Debbie A. Fife (Steve), Kathy Boyle (Mike), and Kim Emge; grandchildren, Stephanie, Kevin, Mac, David, Shannon, Sam, Josh, Chris, and Mark; eight great grandchildren; sister, LaVerne Burckley (Bob); and two other children who claimed Bill as their second Dad, Carol Woosley and Billy Emge.
Funeral service will be 1:30 Saturday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with entombment in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 3-8 and Saturday 10am until the service at 1:30 at the funeral home.
