Irene McLeod Wooten, age 84, went to be with her Lord and Savior while at her home, surrounded by her loving family on January 17, 2013.
Irene was born in Windsor Ontario Canada on September 3, 1928 to David and Alice Carder McLeod. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her daughter, Linda JoAnn Wooten; siblings, Lilly Vannick and Sonny McLeod; and niece, Diane McLeod Wooten. She retired as a dedicated civil service employee at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
She enjoyed her church and adult Sunday School group at St. Bethlehem United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Tracy Forest Wooten; daughter, Carolyn Wooten Loeffler (Mike); son, Tracy David Wooten (Lynn); grandchildren, Franklin Wood (Terryl), Nicki Bell (Tim), Scott Wood (Michelle), Cal Wooten (Ariel), Laura Wooten James (Brian), Reid Wooten, and Trace Wooten; great grandchildren, Carson Wood, Lindie Wood, and Josh Weaks.
Tracy was the most dedicated husband during his wife's declining health.
The family would like to thank LaQuita Hunter, Sonia Switzer, and AseraCare (Shekita, Della, and Laura) for their friendship and service.
A celebration of Irene's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Rev. Richard Wesley officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013 from 2:00-6:00 p.m. and Sunday, January 20, 2013 from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Family to serve as pallbearers.
