New Bedford- Maria C. Moniz, 87, died Tuseday July 6, 2004 at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the widow of Jose R. Moniz. She was the sister of Gilda Medeiros of Toronto,Ontario,Canada, Jose Lima ,Luis Lima and Antonio Lima all of St. Michael, Azores and the late Henrique Lima. She also had several nieces and nephews.
Mrs.Moniz was born in St. Michael, Azores and live here since 1967. She was the daughter of the late Jose L. Medeiros and Jorgina (Moniz) Medeiros. Mrs. Moniz worked as a stitcher for various local cotton textile mills.
Her funeral will be Saturday, July 10, 2004, from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 8:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Rivet St.,New Bedford, MA. Visiting hours will be Friday, July 9,2004 , 6 to 9 P.M. only at the funeral home.
