Obituary

Edward A. Falardeau, 96, of North Smithfield, formerly of Third Ave. Woonsocket, died Tuesday evening at St. Antoine Residence. He was the husband of the late Rhea M. (Doire) Falardeau.
Born in Holyoke, MA., he was a son of the late Albert and Catherine (Minners) Falardeau. He was a resident of Woonsocket for most of his life.
Mr. Falardeau served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Theatre. He received the Rhineland-Ardennes- Central Europe Campaign Ribbon, Good Conduct and Victory Medal.
In his earlier years Mr. Falardeau worked at the French Worsted Mill, Texas Instruments and Owens-Corning Fiberglass Corp. Ed was employed by the Foxboro Company for many years until retiring in 1980.
Ed was a member of the VFW Post # 6342 in Forestdale, Sacred Heart Seniors and the AARP. An avid bowler Edward was a member of several local leagues.
Edward will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by two daughters Jeanne C. Falardeau of North Smithfield, and Nancy A. Nelson, and her husband Bruce, of Chepachet. Three grandchildren Steven B. Nelson, and his wife Lauren, of Lincoln and Bethany A. and Debra L. Nelson both of Chepachet, and a great-grandchild to arrive in March. He was the brother of the late Roy and John Falardeau. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be Saturday at 9:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Sacred Heart Church, Olo St. Woonsocket. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Friday from 5-8 pm.
