Obituary

Lucille Caron Lagasse, 90, of Goffstown, NH, died January 15, 2013 at her home.
She was born the 5th of 6 siblings in Manchester, NH, August 5, 1922, to Athanase and Anna (Ducasse) Caron, of Canadian descent. She lived through the depression, and was a graduate of Holy Angels HS.
She was proud to be an aircraft mechanic during WWII. She was active in politics, serving in the State Legislature. She ran for Congress, was campaign manager for many Governors, NH Congressmen and Senators. She chaired Pres. Ronald Reagan’s successful NH elections. She was co-founder of the American- Canadian Genealogical Society, Manchester, NH. She served on the board of the Manchester Union Leader under William Loeb. She championed involvement in church, school, town meetings, and was a natural leader.
She was passionate about health and authored a book on eating naturally. She was a compassionate, loving wife and mother who worked, sang and danced well into her 80’s. She loved to entertain for friends and family, especially cooking . She touched many lives with her generosity, hospitality, and warm smile.
She was predeceased by her husband of 29 years, Armand J. Lagasse, in 1976.
She is survived by her 2 daughters, Paulette Weaver of Kentucky, Annette Holleran of Weare, NH; her 3 sons, Charles Lagasse of Bow, NH, Michael Lagasse of Weare, NH and Richard Lagasse of Goffstown, NH; her beloved 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. We all mourn our loss but we rejoice in her life. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
A memorial Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, January 19, 2013 in St. Lawrence Church, Goffstown, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Horizons For NH, 199 Manchester St, Manchester, NH 03103.
