Obituary

Doria (Houle) Palermo, 92, of Salem, NH, died Monday at the Holy Family Hospital, Methuen, MA. She was born and educated in So. Lawrence, MA and attended St. Mary’s Grammar School. She later graduated from Woodbury High School in Salem, NH. She was a resident of Salem for the past 70 years. Doria was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Salem, where she was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the St. Joseph Sodality. In 1973 Doria started the Rosary group at St. Joseph Church and held prayer groups out of her home for many years, and is still going today.

Doria was predeceased by her husband Carmelo Palermo and her son Thomas Palermo.

She is survived by her children, Marie and her husband Clifford Carroll of Rome, NY, Antoinette Mondalto of Reading, MA and Stewart Mondalto of Florida, Louis and his wife Kathy Palermo of Windham, NH, Carolyn Palermo of Salem, NH, Roberta and her husband Charles Hatch of Lewiston, ME, Diane Palermo of Manchester, NH, Loretta and her husband George Packard of Lawrence, MA, Elizabeth Palermo of Merrimack, NH, wife of Thomas Palermo, Theresa and her husband John Robinson of Nashua, NH, and Robert and his wife Joy Palermo of Haverhill, MA; grandchildren, Diana Kaufman, Andrea Doughty, Sean Carroll, Jamie Mondalto, Mark Mondalto, Aileen Anderson, Stephen Palermo, Sherri-Ann LaVallee, Christopher Hatch, Richard Chojnacki, Melanie Sumpter, Christopher Chojnacki, Brittany Packard, April Packard, Mario Palermo, Garrick Palermo, Jacob Palermo, Andrew Gaudet, James Gaudet, Michael Gaudet, Danielle Chernick, Corey Robinson, Stephanie Palermo, Kelly Sayers, and David Sayers; 20 Great Grandchildren and 1 special bundle on the way. At our last family party, mama requested that we all “Stick Together”!

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 19th at 9 AM at St. Joseph Church, Salem, NH. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lawrence, MA. Calling hours will be held Friday, Jan. 18th from 4-8 PM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St, Salem, NH. Memorial contributions may be made to St’s Mary & Joseph Church 200 Lawrence Rd, Salem, NH 03079.
