Obituary

Donald Vincent Reinold, a life-long resident of Medford passed away peacefully in the early morning of January 15, 2013. Don was the 7th of 8 children born of Charles Reinold of Medford and Julia MacDougal, originally of Canada. The family has remained close throughout their lives, spending much of their childhood on Park Street in Medford.

Don attended Medford High School and married his high school sweetheart Eileen Marie Leahy in 1952. After a period living in New Mexico during his Air Force service, they returned to Medford for the remainder of their 60 years together and where Don remained until the end of his life.

Eileen and Donald raised their 4 children in Medford in a tight-knit neighborhood which fostered life-long friendships; the neighborhood was an important part of their life together. Don was self-employed and spent many years building the Cambridge-based “Boston Sandwich Shops”. In later years, he partnered with his son, Bill.

Don leaves behind a loving family of which he was very proud: his children, Kathy Reinold and her husband Bob Miller of Reading, Michael Reinold of Stittville, NY and Sharon McNamara and her husband John, of Westford; his siblings, Katherine Cupples of Easton and Charles (“Bud”) Reinold of Medford; his grandchildren, Nichole Wall, Danielle DeNufrio, Jennifer McNamara, Juliana Reinold, Samantha McNamara, Fallon Reinold, John McNamara, Robert Reinold, Logan, Riley, Turner and MaKenna Reinold and his great-grandchildren, Caeleb, Cole and Dellana Wall.

Don lost is beloved wife Eileen in 2011 and his oldest son William in 2012. Don was also preceded in death by his sisters, Julia Reinold and Jean Reignierd and brothers John, Jim and Arthur Reinold. He will be remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews and friends.

The funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Friday, January 18th at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Thursday, January 17th from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Don’s memory may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, FL 6, Brookline, MA 02445-9924. NO CARNATIONS in flowers please.
