Obituary

Worcester—Takvor Takvorian, 83, of 203 Holden Street, died Tuesday, July 6, 2004, in UMass Memorial Medical Center—Memorial Campus. His wife of many years, Sadie (Kazarian) Takvorian died in 2001. She leaves a son, Richard G. Takvorian of Eynatten, Belgium; a daughter, Susan M. Pappas of Worcester; 3 grandchildren, Nicholas Takvorian, Jennifer Takvorian Pappas, and Zoe Takvorian; a brother, Harry Takvorian of Providence; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Kaloust Takvorian of Belchertown.

Takvor was born in Lawrence, son of Hamaiag T. and Mary (Panosian) Takvorian. He was a licensed barber with shops on Chandler and Highland Streets. He also worked as a laboratory technician for many years for New England Electric. He was a WWII Navy veteran serving as a radio technician in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of The Armenian Church of Our Saviour. Tak was a devoted father and grandfather with steadfast love for his family and his wonderful friends.

Private funeral services will be held Friday, July 9, at 11:00 a.m. in the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
