Obituary

Mary A. (Boltas) Levasseur, wife of the late Donald E. Levasseur, died peacefully Sunday, January 13, 2013 after a brief illness.

Mary was born and raised in Salem, Attended Salem High School, and during the World War II war years, worked at the former Hytron, a producer of materials for the war effort. Mary was best known for her years at Priscilla’s Donut Shop where she worked until her retirement in the late 1980’s. During those years, she greeted and mentored all the local children on their way to St. Joseph and the Saltonstall Schools. Most are now in their 50’s and 60’s and still ask for her.

Mary was very active, enjoyed walking daily, reading, and spending time with her family.
She captured may hearts with her little hand sketched drawings known fondly as “Mary Grams” which always included her personal notes. Always remember her whistle, her laughter and warmth, for they were genuine.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Donna Kiley of Burlington, VT, Janet Dansreau and Janice Thistlewaite both of Salem, her son Mark Levasseur of Salem, her brother, Emanuel ‘Mickey’ Boltas of Danvers, one grand daughter Alexandra Dusablon of Essex, VT, two great-grandchildren Mya and Storm Dusablon as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Demetrius ‘Jimmy’ Boltas.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Saturday, January 19, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem.
