Obituary

An adventurer of fun and spirit, Henry Natterer, born December 28, 1932 in Woodbury, NY, passed away on January 13, 2013 in Manchester, NH. Henry spent his childhood in the magical environs of the natural world, whose essence he patiently taught and embraced throughout his life. He grew up near the water, and was later captain of seagoing vessels, spending most of his life on woodland streams, lakes, or ocean. His appreciation of life's natural order and cycles made him an environmentalist before his time. He was a sportsman, an athlete, and a fine craftsman. He was a gentleman with a character of strength and leadership, reticence, honor and courage.

Henry served in the Korean War, and soon after married his high school sweetheart, Flora. They were married for 56 years and are survived by their sons, Jeffrey Natterer, Jonathan von Natterer; daughter, Addie Martinez; three grandsons, and a beloved extended family. Henry's handsome, unique, enduring persona and his laughter will always be embraced with tremendous love and affection in the hearts of all who knew him.

His family held a private Catholic service on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, in Manchester.
