Richard L. Ott, 83, of Anderson died at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital in Anderson on January 12, 2013 after an extended illness.
Richard was born January 15, 1929 in Elwood, IN to William Lloyd and Georgia Ott. He resided in Middletown, IN.
He served his country in the United States Army.
He retired in 1989 as a general supervisor at Guide Division of General Motors.
Richard was a lifetime member of Austin Masonic Lodge # 128 in Tipton, IN and Middletown American Legion and he attended Middletown Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Julia Ann (Gold) Ott of Middletown whom he married May of 1979; his daughters Dawn Boruff in Kansas City, MO; Kim Afa in O'Fallon, MO; Debbra (Daniel) Manis in Anderson; Dianna (Mike) Conwell in Kokomo; and Cory Day in Middletown; eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren; special nephew Mike (Mary Lou) Ott in Pendleton and a brother-in-law Ron (Katherine) Gold in Chesterfield.
The family would like to extended a special thanks to the gracious staff of Middletown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and the sixth floor of St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital formerly known as St. John's Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Harold and Robert Ott and son-in-law George Afa, sister-in-law Mary Ott and his grandson Jamie Wilson.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 18, 2013 at Middletown Church of the Nazarene in Middletown, IN with Rev. Phil Rogers officiating.
The visitation will be Thursday, January 17 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Middletown Church of the Nazarene in Middletown, IN.
Memorial contributions may be given to Middletown Church of the Nazarene.
