Marion (Knox) Jacobson, age 91, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2012. Marion was the wife of the late Joel August Jacobson. She is survived by her son, John “Jackie” Jacobson and his wife Judy, her 2 grandchildren, James Terlino and Eric Jacobson and his wife Jen Alley. Marion also leaves her 2 great grandchildren Nicholas Terlino and Evan Jacobson. She is predeceased by her daughter Anne Marie (Candy) Terlino Nickerson.
Marion was born in Glasgow, Scotland and lived most of her life in Weymouth. She worked at the South Weymouth Naval Air Station for more than 20 years, most as the secretary for the Captain of the Air Station. Upon retirement she volunteered for Meals on Wheels in Weymouth, and the Marshfield Fair and participated with the Tender Tappers in Quincy and the Knotty Knitters in Weymouth.
Marion enjoyed boating on Quincy Bay with her family, reading Nora Roberts Novels, growing flowers and tomatoes on her apartment balcony, watching the Red Sox, especially Ted Williams, and watching golf on TV, particularly Arnold Palmer and Tiger Woods.
Visiting Hours will be at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Wednesday January 16 from 4 to 8 P.M. The Funeral Service will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Marion’s memory to the Salvation Army, 25 Shawmut Rd., Canton, MA 02021.
