Obituary

R. Roger “Rocky” Larocque 88, formerly of Manville Rd. died Sunday at St. Antoine Residence. He was the husband of the late Therese (Sarrazin) Larocque. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Nazaire and Bertha (Dalpe) Larocque. Roger was an auto body repair man for the former Toupin Auto for over twenty years and later for Cote Auto Body retiring in 1989. He was an avid baseball and hockey fan. Roger was a coach and pitcher and one of the founding members of “Field of Dreams Softball League”.

He is survived by his son, Ronald R. Larocque and his wife Lois of Cranston, his daughter Vivian Cournoyer and her husband Bert of Harrisville, three grandchildren, Michael Cournoyer, Heather Lee, and Jennifer Bowser, and four great-grandchildren. He was also the brother of the late Fleurette Lefebvre.

His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Agatha’s Church, Joffre St. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are Tuesday 5-8 PM. In lieu of flowers donations to St Antoine Residence, 10 Rhodes Ave. North Smithfield, RI 02896-6999 in his memory would be appreciated.
