Obituary

Mary Louise (Murray) Hamilton, 98, of Natick, formerly of Somerset, passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 12, 2013. She was the beloved wife of the late James J. Hamilton who passed away in 1996 and with whom she shared 53 years of marriage.

Born in Fall River, daughter of the late William and Alda (Burrell) Murray, Mrs. Hamilton moved with her family to Somerset at a young age. She was educated in the Somerset Public Schools and was a graduate of Somerset High School. Mrs. Hamilton went on to study secretarial skills and returned to Somerset High School where she served as the Principal’s Secretary until her retirement in 1975. In addition to her professional duties, she loved her role as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and nothing brought her more happiness than time spent with her loving family. Mrs. Hamilton was a member of the Catholic Daughters of Isabella, a C.C.D. teacher at St. Thomas More Parish in Somerset as well as a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. In her retirement, Mrs. Hamilton, along with her beloved husband, enjoyed travelling throughout New England enjoying the beauty that it had to offer. She was also an avid reader.

She is survived by her two devoted children, Attorney Terrance J. Hamilton and his wife Patricia Michaels-Hamilton of Boston and Mary Louise Carey and her husband Thomas E. of Natick. She was the cherished grandmother of Tara Alegret and her husband Orlando, Trevor J. Hamilton and his wife Taryn, Meredith M. Carey, and Neil H. Carey and his wife Hannah. She was also the great-grandmother of Mia Camille Hamilton and Fionna Riley Carey. Mrs. Hamilton was pre-deceased by her brother William Murray.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St. (at Natick Common) Natick on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 8:30 am to be followed by her Mass of Christian Burial in St. Linus Church, 119 Hartford St., Natick at 9:00 AM. Burial will take place in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Somerset. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday morning from 7:30-8:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Mary Ann Morse Nursing Care Center, 45 Union St. Natick, MA 01760.
