FALL RIVER – Thomas J. Andrews, former longtime resident of North Dighton, died unexpectedly at his Fall River home on Jan. 11, 2013.
He was 68.
Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Manuel and Louise (Duarte) Andrews.
Raised in the Dighton area, Mr. Andrews was a 1962 graduate of Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School, and a graduate of the former Southeastern Massachusetts University.
He was a US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War.
A retired electrical engineer, Mr. Andrews was employed by Raytheon for over thirty years.
He was a former communicant of St. Nicholas of Myra Church in North Dighton.
A member of the former VFW Raposa-Knott Post 2094, Mr. Andrews was an avid sports fan and enjoyed music.
He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his former wife, Mary Lou (Laine) Andrews of North Dighton; two sons, Michael J. Andrews of Raynham and Mark T. Andrews of CA; a daughter, Martha Andrews of Boston; two sisters, Jane Botelho of Somerset and Jean Delahunt of Dartmouth; two grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Manuel Andrews and Elizabeth “Betty” Santiso.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Wednesday, Jan. 16th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Nicholas of Myra Church, North Dighton at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Patrick Cemetery, Somerset.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Jan. 15th from 5 to 8 p.m.
