Jeannette M. Guilbert, 86, of Manchester, passed away on January 12, 2013 at the Mt. Carmel Nursing Home, in Manchester.
She was born in Manchester, on May 6, 1926, the daughter of George and Eva (Filteau) Vallee.
Jeannette was a lifelong resident of the Queen City. She was employed in the shoe industry for nearly 40 years, working at various local mills including Johnson Shoe, Myrna Shoe and Dorson Fleischer. She then enjoyed working part time at Rich's Dept Store after her retirement. She spent many years as a volunteer with St. Peter's Church and truly enjoyed caring for her family. She was the glue that held her family together. Jeannette always saw the good in people and all were welcome at Meme's home. There was always an extra place at her table.
Jeannette was predeceased by her husband, Joseph A. A. Guilbert, in 1997. Her family members include two sons, Richard Guilbert (and wife Diana), of Manchester and Roger Guilbert (and wife Cheryl Simmons), of Laconia; six grandchildren, Robert Guilbert, Erica Murphy (and husband Ryan), Scott Guilbert (and wife Leslie), Sammy Auciello, Gary Guilbert (and wife Kara) and Eric Guilbert; three great grandchildren, Brandon & Kaleigh Murphy and Chyanne Rhinehart; two sisters, Irene Goupil, of Manchester and Claire Walsh (and husband Gerald), of Auburn; and one brother, Gerald Vallee (and wife Monique), of Epsom.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at St. Peter’s Church, 567 Manchester Road, Auburn, NH. Committal Prayers followed in the mausoleum at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Road, Manchester, NH 03102.
