Obituary

Dolores H. Kishel of Olyphant died Friday at Geisinger Community Medical Center. Her husband of 62 years is Stephen Kishel Sr.

Born May 25, 1932, in Jessup, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Helen Yuhas Betti. A graduate of Throop High School, she was employed by Daystrom and owned and operated Kishel's Pizza in Olyphant with her husband, Stephen, for more than 40 years before retirement.

Dolores lovingly welcomed holiday events at her home, which showcased her culinary talents. She was also known for her generosity of spirit and her willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need. She was a great wife, mother and mother-in-law, and loved her children's spouses as if they were her own children. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Her family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Geisinger CMC and Mountain View Care Center for their exceptional care and compassion. Also, a special thank you to Dr. Batzel and Dr. Majernick.

Also surviving are two sons, Stephen J. Kishel Jr. and wife, Kathy, Taylor; and John Kishel and wife, Lisa, Mountaintop; two daughters, Judi Bobrowsky and husband, Joe, Johnson City, N.Y.; and Debbi Tereschak and husband, Curt, Greentown; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Tucky, Ohio; and Louise Rinaggio, Massachusettes; sisters-in-law, Mildred Kishel, Olyphant; and Betty Butryn, New Jersey; several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Betti.

The funeral will be Wednesday from the Michael P. Glinsky Funeral Home Inc., 129 Grant St., Olyphant, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick's Church, Olyphant. Interment, St. John's Cemetery, Jessup.

Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
