Geneva Hervey, age 48, died Friday, January 11, 2013 as a result of an automobile accident. She was born January 6, 1965 in Water Valley, MS to James Earl Johnson and the late Sarah Houston. Geneva was a member of Union Hill CME Church of Water Valley, MS, she enjoyed cooking Barbeque, listening to music and dancing. She had a great sense of humor, enjoyed life and loved her family and grandchildren dearly.
Visitation is planned for Saturday, January 19, 2013 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the City Auditorium in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 1:00 PM at the City Auditorium with Rev. Cleve Alexander officiating. Jerry Telford, Tiny Martin, Clyde Pegues, Deshaun Kurtz, Hugh Caldwell, Derrick Pomerlee, Jarvis Roberson and Frederick Campbell will serve as pallbearers. Seven Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Geneva is survived by her daughters, Patrice Walker of Water Valley, MS and Lakeisha Walker of Coffeeville, MS; her sons, Michael Hervey and Wesley Walker both of Water Valley, MS; three sisters, Cassie Houston (Chris), Annie Hervey and Shenetha Hawkins (Craig) all of Water Valley, MS; six brothers, Goldie Hervey (Mary), Michael Houston, Johnny Hervey, Bobby Hervey and Johnny C. Hervey all of Water Valley and Terry Hervey (Glenda) of Enid, MS; her father, James Earl Johnson of Water Valley, MS; grandparents, Cloister Hervey and Deolar Johnson both of Water Valley, MS; and six grandchildren, Quatricia Franklin, Kentrell Walker, Jacquarian Hervey, Lafaysia Martin, Alexandra Hervey and Michael Hervey, Jr.
In addition to her mother, Geneva was preceded in death by a daughter, Felicia Walker and two brothers, Bobby Hervey and R. V. Hervey.
