Obituary

Fred G. Rapallo of Medford died peacefully at home. He was 92. Fred was raised in Medford, the son of the late Salvatore and Anna Rapallo. After high school he enlisted in the US Navy and served in the Pacific during the World War II. He served on the USS Santee which suffered Kamikaze attacks while in combat. After the war he operated his own business, Golf Town in Danvers which was a miniature golf and driving range. He operated the popular facility until his retirement. An avid golfer himself, Fred belonged to the Billerica Country Club. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by his family and many friends.


The beloved husband of the late Ann (Masino), he was a devoted father to Renee Campbell and her husband Robert of Kansas City, MO and the late Ann C. Whitney. He was a dear father-in-law to William Casamento of Melrose and a loving grandfather to Robin Gigante and her husband Marc of Tewksbury, Jennifer Arsenault and her husband David of Pelham, NH, Nicole Bradshaw and her husband Beau of Kansas City, Philip Whitney of Tewksbury, and Chad Campbell of New York City. Loving great-grandfather of Alissa, Lily, Whitney, Isabella, Jake, Giana and Kason he was the brother of Elizabeth Cammarata of Medford the late Bernadette Ballero, Andrew, Joseph, Steven, Nicholas, Frank and Edward Rapallo. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Tuesday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4 – 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
