Phyllis M. King
Devoted wife, mother and grandmother
TEWKSBURY: Phyllis M. (Trull) King, age 91, a longtime Tewksbury resident, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the Radius Northwood Nursing & Rehabilitation in Lowell.
Born in Lowell on October 9, 1921, she was the daughter of the late J. Chester Trull and the late Rena May (Baldwin) Trull.
She married Robert Underwood King from Athol, MA and raised three children, Richmond, Barbara and John.
Phyllis had many careers in her life because she had to support her family due to her late husband's failing health. She was always cheerful even in the face of severe adversity. Through hard work and attention to detail, Phyllis kept the family together for over 50 years. According to her family she was a true Saint.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tucson, AZ and was also a member of the North Tewksbury Baptist Church for many years.
Prior to her retirement, she worked at Tewksbury Hospital for 20 years in the kitchen as a cook and in the laundry department.
Phyllis later worked for the Dracut School System as a foster grandparent.
Phyllis is survived by one son, John R. King and his wife Patricia; two grandchildren, Corey B. King and his wife Denise and Jeffrey S. King and his wife Shelly; two great grandchildren, Colin M. and Siena R. King; also many nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was the mother of the late Richmond U. King and Barbara A. King and sister of the late Richard Trull, J. Arthur Trull and Velma Chambers.
Relatives and friends are invited to her calling hours on Monday, Jan. 14, from 6-8 p.m., in the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. At the request of the family funeral services will be held privately. Please Omit Flowers.
