Josephine (Medeiros) Kenyon, 88, of New Bedford died January 9, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late Walter O. Kenyon.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Andrina (Pimental) Figueiredo and John Medeiros, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Mrs. Kenyon was formerly employed as a stitcher at Colonial Textile for many years until her retirement.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing and trips to Foxwoods.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hawthorn Medical Dialysis Center for ten years of exceptional care given to Josephine, especially MaryKay, Michelle and Christine.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth W. Kenyon and his companion Kim Macey of New Bedford; a daughter, Janet L. Haggerty and her husband Edward of Lakeville; a sister, Alice Neves of Dartmouth; three grandchildren, Bridget F. Haggerty, Brendan E. Haggerty and Kelly A. Haggerty; and four great-grandchildren, Edward D. Niesig, Maya J. Niesig, Michael DeSouza and Emily DeSouza; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Antone Medeiros.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 16th at 11:30 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 10 - 11:30 AM.
