ALMQUIST (MacAllister) JOY C., age 78, of Marshfield, MA, formerly of Weymouth, MA and Pembroke, ME, passed away at home after a long illness on January 10, 2013, with her family at her side. Daughter of George F. and Elizabeth G. MacAllister (deceased). Beloved wife of 53 years to the late Jack Almquist. Loving mother of Karen E. Fryer and Penny Jacobs of Hyattsville, MD; John R. Almquist and Lisa F. Fabiano of Marshfield; Janet L. and Dana F. Seigler of Weymouth; George H. and Susan W. Almquist of Monticello, IN; daughter-in-law Sharon L. Almquist of Marshfield. Sister of Waine I. MacAllister of San Diego, CA and the late Robert H. MacAllister of Pembroke, ME. Sister-in-law of Donald Almquist of New Castle, DE. Aunt of Kristina Almquist, Jan Almquist, and Robert S. MacAllister. Loving grandmother of Lori Fryer, Aaron Seigler, Jenna Almquist, James Almquist, Steven Almquist, Derek Seigler, Melissa Almquist, Cara Jacobs, and Kate Jacobs. Lifelong friend to Marilyn DeBoer and Janice Weir. She will be missed by her sheltie, Andy. Joy was born and raised in Weymouth and graduated from Weymouth High School. She enjoyed her work with the Town of Weymouth and a long retirement with Jack, the love of her life, in Pembroke, ME.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the North Community Church, 72 Old Main St. in Marshfield Hills.
