PRISCILLA LOUISE ALLEN HUME, of Hingham, passed away at the Norwell Knoll Nursing Home on January 7th, 2013. She was 87. Beloved wife of the late Elmer (Russ) Hume, she is survived by her three children; Deborah Stockbridge of Scituate, MA, Sandra Bailey of Richmond, Virginia and Donald Hume of Plymouth, MA. She had seven grandchildren; Heidi Howe Ragone, Dr. Meredith Bailey, the late Jeffrey Bailey, Kimberly Bailey, Becky Stockbridge McKinnell, Lindsay Stockbridge and Charles Stockbridge and four great grandchildren; John, David and Peter Ragone and Piper McKinnell. Sister of the late Margie Kaloyanides of Hingham and the late Robert Allen of Winchester. She is also survived by 8 nieces and nephews.
Priscilla was born in Boston in 1925 the daughter of Susan Levis Allen and Alfred Allen of Somerville. She met and married Russ Hume in 1948 and in 1956 they made the move to Hingham to raise their family. After raising her children, Priscilla spent her career working as an office manager for Perkins Engineering until her retirement in 1990. A resident of Hingham for over 57 years, Priscilla was a long time member of the Hingham Congregational Church and the Hingham Yacht Club. She was an avid piano player, member of several bridge clubs, consummate entertainer and accomplished baker who loved and took great pleasure in her family, friends and home.
Priscilla had a generous spirit and an ever ready smile that will be missed by all who knew her. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 19th at 11:00 AM at The Hingham Congregational Church, 378 Main St., (Rt. 228), Hingham.
