Arthur F. Waters, 87, of Whitman, passed away Thursday January 10th in the Good Samaritan Medical Center, after a brief illness. He was the husband of 63 years to Elena A. Waters.
He was born in Malden, son of the late Arthur F. and Jennie (Scriven) Waters.
Arthur has been a Whitman resident for many years and was a member of the Holy Ghost Church, where he was an usher and a volunteer at the St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 60 years.
He worked for the New York- New Haven Railroad for a number of years.
In addition to his beloved wife Elena, he was the loving father to Allan Waters, Diane Valente, Janet Kelly, Karen Kirychuk and Kathleen Engstrom, loving Papa of Darcie, Meaghan, Galina, Haley, Natalia, Cole, Ethan, Zachary, Callan and Luke and grand Papa of Amanda and Joshua.
His services will be held on Tuesday January 15th at 10:00AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. (Rte 58 at the Rotary) Whitman. Visitation will be on Monday January 14th from 4:00-7:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the St. Vincent DePaul C/O Holy Ghost Church, 518 Washington St. Whitman, MA 02382
