Obituary

Methuen, MA – Robert J. “Bob” Groleau, Sr., 76, yrs. died January 9, 2013 at the Lawrence General Hospital with his beloved family by his side.
Born and educated in Lawrence Mr. Groleau was the son of Phillip and Alphonsine (Demers) Groleau. He was an attendant of St. Monica Church in Methuen and was also a veteran of the United States Army/ National Guard.
For many years he owned and operated Ross Oil Company, and worked with Eidam-Beaudoin Oil of Lawrence as an oil burner technician.
Mr. Groleau was an active, life member and past Exalted Ruler of the Lawrence Lodge 65 B.P.O.E.. For 11 years ran an antique car show at the elks to raise funds for diabetes research. For many years Bob loved his motorcycle. Mr. Groleau is survived by his wife and best friend of 54 years; Rachel (LeClair) Groleau, one son Robert J. Groleau, Jr. one sister Arline and her husband Francis Soucy, one niece Carolyn Obermeir and one nephew Alan Soucy.
Arrangements: Calling hours Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
A Funeral mass will take place on Saturday morning at 9 o’clock in Saint Monica Church.
