WILMINGTON - Ann Louise (Bray) VonKahle, age 84, an active member of Wilmington’s Senior Community, died peacefully on Thursday morning, January 10, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, surrounded by her beloved family. She was the wife of the late Paul VonKahle, who died in 1973.
She was born in the Jamaica Plain section of Boston, on February 24, 1928, a daughter of the late John and Ethel (Burns) Bray. She was raised in Jamaica Plain, but moved to Wilmington in 1955 where had remained for the greater part of her life, most recently in the Deming Way Senior Complex. She was active at the St. Thomas of Villanova Church in Wilmington and the Disabled American Veteran’s Saugus Post.
She is survived by six children, Donna Houston of Dracut, Susan Quimby and her husband William of Denver, CO, Carol Pope and her husband Jan of Charlestown, Paula Vacherot and her husband Maurice of Burlington, VT, Michael VonKahle and his wife Robin (Walsh) of Wilmington, Cynthia VonKahle of Methuen; fifteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Dykens of Abington, MA and Helena Hannaford of Hollywood, FL; many nieces and nephews; and was predeceased by her daughter Ann VonKahle who died as a toddler in 1952; sisters Barbara Clark, and Jacqueline Bement, and brother James Bray.
