Mrs. Esterina M. Rapa, age 84 of Somerville died Tuesday in the Glen Ridge Nursing Care center in Medford. She is the beloved wife of Carmine Rapa with whom she shared more than 60 years of marriage. Mrs. Rapa was born in Italy, daughter of the late Antonio and Angelina (Desoricellis) Ibelli. In earlier years she worked as a fancy candy packer at Fannie Farmer Chocolates and also at the Duran Candy Confectionary. She loved to cook and crochet. She was a vibrant, friendly woman always with a smileShe brought her talents in farming from the old country and enjoyed growing vegetables and flowers here. Mrs Rapa was a faithful communicant of St. Clement Church, but nothing gave her more enjoyment than spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son Giacomo Rapa of Somerville, two daughters: Antonietta Locke nd her husband Richard of Milford, NH, Raffaella Dwyer and her husband Clifford of Weston, FL., a brother: Mario Ibelli and his wife Teobalda of Venezuela and the late Rolando and Filiberto Ibelli. Also survived by several loving nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Friday from 4 through 8 Pm. at the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home 306 Main St., Medford. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, Saturday at 11:00 am.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with entombment in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum.
