Obituary

Laura M. (McCarthy) Rayner, 94, of Medway, died Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at the Medway Country Manor Nursing Home. She was the wife of Robert P. Rayner who died in 1998.

Born in Somerville on February 21, 1918, she was the daughter of the late John William and Mary E. (Brown) McCarthy.

Mrs. Rayner was a resident of Medway for the past 14 years and formerly resided in Sebago Lake, ME and Needham.

Mrs. Rayner graduated from Somerville High School and the former Burdette Business School in Boston and was a homemaker for most of her life.

She is survived by her children Robert Rayner of Bellingham, Marilyn Moore of Medway, Alan Rayner of Medway, William Rayner of Needham and Laurie Fucci of Lords Valley, PA.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was the sister of the late Timothy Joseph McCarthy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Friday, January 11 from the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 151 Village St. in Medway at 10 a.m.

Burial will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 – 7 p.m.
