Mr. Anthony R. Romano, age 88 of Medford died Monday in Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, He is the husband of the late Marie (Davoli) Romano. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Michael and Carpinella Romano. He attended local schools and joined the U.S. Navy right out of school to serve our country during WWII. He was an Iron Worker for many years and worked construction in the greater Boston areas. He enjoyed travelling, bowling occasional trips to Foxwoods and a variety of other interests, however nothing gave him more satisfaction than spending time with his son and grandchildren.
He is survived by one son Gregory Romano of Tewksbury, three grandchildren, Lindsay, Christopher and Eric Romano and a Niece, Debra Antonchecci of RI. He is the brother of Adeline Sadow of Somerville.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home 306 Main Street Medford on Friday at 9:00 am, followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street Medford at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Friends may call Thursday from 4 through 8 p.m. Services will conclude with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
