Millicent A. (Dexter) Lackey, 86, of New Bedford died Friday January 4, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the wife of the late William Lackey, Jr. and former wife of the late Gilbert Vieira.
Born in Acushnet, the daughter of the late Joseph T. and Lucy B. (Harding) Dexter, she lived in New Bedford and Freetown for most of her life.
Mrs. Lackey was formerly employed as a foster care provider.
She is survived by her children, Lucy Pinto, Gilbert Vieira, and William Lackey III; her sister, Lorraine Sullivan; her grandson, Carlos G. Pinto and six other grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Ralph Dexter, Ernest Dexter, Elsie Washburn, and Alice Hurney.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 AM at St. Lawrence Church. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery.
