Obituary

Clarence Edward Arnold, Sr., 68, of Ocilla, died Monday, January 7, 2013 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Thursday, January 10, 2013, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla with the Rev. Stanley Norman officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Moultrie. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Wednesday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.

Mr. Arnold was born August 28, 1944 in Copeland, Florida to the late Clarrie Hubert Arnold, Sr. and Bertie Mae Rainer Arnold. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam War. He moved to the community in 1985 from Sylvester. A member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, he formerly served as an assistant Commander of the Sylvester post. He was a former manager for Dixie Foods Convenience Stores. He enjoyed wood-working and carpentry and selling goods at the Flea Market in Tifton. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by two sons: Clarence Edward “Eddie” Arnold, Jr. of Moultrie, and Sean Edenfield of Fitzgerald; two daughters: Tammy Hancock of Moultrie and Dawn Arnold of Moultrie; three sisters: Shirley Mullinax of Dillard, JoAnne Hester of Macon and Della Arnold of Waycross; two brothers: Oliver Arnold of Douglas and John Arnold of Brevard, North Carolina; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
