Cecile M. (Desjardins) Jacques age 94, of Salem, died Sunday, January 6, 2013, the morning of her birthday, at home with her family by her side. She was the devoted wife of the late Donat Jacques.
Born in Lynn, she was raised in Salem by the late Tiburce and Elumina Desjardins. A stay at home mom, Cecile was a kind, loving and gentle woman, who was devoted to her family, extended family and friends who loved creating a welcoming home. Her life revolved around her grandchildren, great-grandchildren as well as her nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, many of whom considered her their ‘memere.’
Cecile was a faithful member of Ste. Anne Parish for many years, and was a Eucharistic Minister into her 93 year. She was also a Eucharistic Minister for Salem Hospital.
She is survived by three daughters, Marie Soucy of Beverly, wife of the late Rene Soucy, Jeanne Jacques of Florida and Jacqueline Gaudreau of Peabody, her grandchildren, Donald Gaudreau and his wife Renee, Lisa Kirchner and her husband James, Jeannine Milius and her husband Tom, Lori Reinbold and her husband Randy, Brian Soucy and his wife Kelli, and her great-grandchildren, Adam, Abigayle, James, Kathryn, Ryan, Daniel, Nathan, Peter, Grace, Julia and Alexia. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 9:00 A.M. at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem to be followed by her funeral mass in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours in the funeral home, Tuesday 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.
