Obituary

Mrs. Clara A. Aresco, age 89 of Medford died Saturday in Massachusetts General Hospital following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late John Aresco.
Born in Boston, daughter of the late Amato and Consiglia (Picardi) Vena, she was raised in Somerville and attended Boston Trade High School for Girls. In earlier years she worked as a cook in the food service industry. In later years she was the proverbial "snowbird" spending six months at a time in Medford and at her beloved Delray Beach Fl. She was a member of the Ladies Club in FL, and the D.A.V. in Medford. She was considered a great cook, she enjoyed painting and family times. Nothing gave her more satisfaction than spending time with her daughter, grandchildren and great grandaughter . She was a fiercely independent woman, still driving daily until 1993.
She is survived by a daughter Madeline Amico and her husband Gene of Medford. Mother of the late Barbara Ann Aresco. Loving grandmother of Gene Amico Jr. and his wife Edie of Lynnfield and Kevin Amico of Medford. Great grandmother of Lauren Amico. Dear sister of the late Phyllis Tynan, Edith Nunziato, Anne Tedesco, Florence Geraneo, Leo and Raymond Vena.
