Obituary

Edward C. “Libby” Liberatore, 83, of Westport died peacefully, Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Charlton Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. He was the husband of Gertrude C. (Bernier) Liberatore.

Born in Fall River, son of the late Tobias and Anna (Mariano) Liberatore, he had lived in Westport for most of his life. A veteran of the Korean War, he served his country in the United States Army. Prior to retirement, he was a pharmacy technician for the VA Hospital in Brockton. He was a Communicant of St. George Church, Westport. Mr. Liberatore had a love of music in which he played in many bands. An avid bowler, he also enjoyed playing softball.

Including his wife, survivors include 3 daughters: Shirley A. Terrell and her husband Steven of New Bedford, Christine M. Palmer and her husband Jeffrey of Westport and Joanne M. Fernandes and her husband Richard of Pawcatuck, CT; a sister: Mary Fitton of Somerset; 4 grandchildren: Darlene, Amy, Alex and Benjamin; 6 great grandchildren: Tyler, Claudia, Aleyna, Ava, Anthony and Knox; and several nieces and nephews.

He was brother of the late Henry Liberatore.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at the Potter Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M.

Calling hours Tuesday 5 – 8 P.M.

Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
